MAN-O-METER

Are you up for the challenge? This is how the Mano-meter works. We will be happy to share your best mountain bike stories, either manly or female. You could, for example, fix five flats in under two hours and sing the National Anthem while wearing full camo-gear. Or ride fifty miles home on a single-speed while listening to Enya. Positive ratings will be given for your riding, but negative ones for the choice of music. Get it? Good luck. Ps. Ps.

It was downhill. I was able to flip my bike 28 times.
I finished the day with a twisted knee. I then changed my fork four more times the next morning, and sprung four rear springs and cracked two shocks.
And I’m only 13.

Mano-Meter Commentary
Dear Matt. You have been awarded the PeWee Herman Award. You are the first person to score this low on the scale. You shouldn’t be turning your bike 28 times or putting on rear shocks at 13 years old. Mano-Meter tip – Drink Ovaltine, take a walk, and watch some cartoons.

A few years back, me and some friends went out on trails.
We came upon an old dirt road leading back to Raymertown.
New York. We chose to drive into the city. The dirt road is a series of roads.
It has both up and down grades. There is also a 65% downhill grade towards the end.
road. It is possible to get serious speed going down. It was a day to remember.
remember. We began to descend the hill. I was just ahead of a car.
length. Two dogs ran out onto the road at that point. All I could do was to brake and hope.
For the best. Unfortunately, luck was not on my side that day. I was able to hit the second dog.
I was so mad that I jumped over the handlebars. Ouch. Ouch.
I was in great pain and skidded down the road, when the bike came right up to me.
Talk about adding insults to injury! My friend is also behind me
I crashed, but it was a lot more gracefully than me. My friends helped me and laughed at my expense. The worst thing was that I had to still carry my bike five miles home with two broken fingers, a lot of road rash and blood, and stones. I treated my injuries and took my bike with me for a ride the next day.

Jayce, we enjoyed the story. Did they have big dogs? The Lloyd Bridges award was given to you because of the animals involved. You had to walk five miles in a wound condition. Be aware of dogs!
